1. Introduction
These terms apply to the Inkora project and its public website. Inkora is a family e-ink calendar that can display selected Google Calendar and Apple/iCloud Calendar events together with weather and other household information.
2. Project status
Inkora is a working public DIY project already used in everyday household operation. The 3D models and assembly documentation are available on Printables and firmware is installed through the official browser installer.
The firmware and documentation remain under active development. Features may be improved, changed or temporarily unavailable while the project evolves.
3. Connecting calendar accounts
The user must explicitly connect each calendar account they want Inkora to use.
Google Calendar can be connected through Google authorization. Apple/iCloud Calendar can be connected using an app-specific password created by the user in their Apple account.
After connecting an account, the user chooses one or more calendars that should be displayed. Google and Apple calendars can be used independently or together.
4. Read-only calendar behavior
Inkora is intended only to retrieve and display calendar information.
Inkora does not create, edit or delete calendar events. The Google integration uses a read-only Calendar scope, and the Inkora firmware uses the Apple/iCloud calendar connection only for reading calendars and events for display.
Inkora is a display device, not a calendar-management application.
5. User responsibility
The user is responsible for correctly assembling and configuring their device, connecting it to Wi-Fi, connecting the required calendar accounts and selecting the calendars they want displayed.
The user is also responsible for protecting access to their Google and Apple accounts, home network and physical Inkora device.
6. Availability
Continuous availability cannot be guaranteed. Functionality may depend on internet access, Google or Apple services, weather-data providers, firmware update infrastructure and the state of the user’s device.
Inkora can use locally cached information during some temporary connection outages, but cached data can become outdated until synchronization succeeds again.
7. Accuracy of displayed information
Inkora displays information obtained from connected services and configured data sources. Although the goal is to show current information, data cannot be guaranteed to be complete, current or error-free at all times.
8. Removing calendar access
Google Calendar authorization can be revoked in the connected-applications section of the user’s Google account.
Apple/iCloud access can be revoked by invalidating the app-specific password in the user’s Apple account.
After access is revoked, Inkora will not be able to retrieve new data from that account until it is connected again.
9. 3D models, firmware and Inkora branding
Inkora 3D models and project documentation are publicly available under the license stated on the official Printables project page.
Inkora firmware is not open source. The source code is not part of the public release and remains copyrighted by the author.
Compiled firmware is made available free of charge for personal, private and non-commercial use with the Inkora project.
Commercial use, sale, commercial redistribution, inclusion of the firmware with commercially offered devices, or hosting and redistributing the firmware binary files from another source requires prior written permission from the author. Users should obtain firmware only from the official Inkora distribution or installer.
The CC BY-NC 4.0 license does not apply to Inkora firmware, source code, the Inkora name, logo or other branding elements unless explicitly stated otherwise.
